THE FIERY FOWLS NAMED 2012 HOT CHICKEN AMATEUR COOKING CONTEST CHAMPS!
Karl G. and the Fiery Fowls were crowned the Champions of the Amateur Cooking Contest today. The five judges, Mayor Dean, Neil McCormick, Leland Statom, Mayor Purcell, and Chris Ferell tasted entries from six teams and awarded the championship to Karl G and his team. Congratulations!
We are currently finalizing our celebrity judges for the 2013 competition. Below are the Celebrity Judges from past competitions:

• Tell us in two paragraphs why you should win the chance to show off your fiery fowl skills in the 2013 Amateur Hot Chicken Contest.
REGISTRATION WILL OPEN MAY 1, 2013.
Based on applicant creativity and fiery flare, the Hot Chicken Festival committee will choose six contestants to cook and serve three (3) plates of Hot Chicken to our expert judges!
Selected contestants will then check-in with Festival staff no later than Noon on July 4; cooking begins at 12:30pm. Contestants will furnish their own spices, serving dishes, cooking utensils, etc.
*All participants must be at least 18 years of age. All particpants must agree to to the use of your name/image for Festival promotional purposes.
Our end of the deal...
1. We’ll provide the chicken, electricity, water and home-style deep fryers the for competition.
2. The winner receives bragging rights for an entire year, a Hot Chicken Trophy and a brand-new deep fryer.
Remember! There’s only room for six amateur feisty Hot Chicken fellows in the fight to the finish, so don’t be a chicken -- get peckin’ on your application.
